Marble Paper...?

I did not file this one under "art", because I do not feel this is artistic. But these are craftsmen! (Huh, crafts-persons...?) I love the flowing of the colors to produce these patterns... wow. The way the ink is prevented from mixing by the algae is almost magical... :-)

This is one of those inventions where it is not immediately obvious what you could do with it - but I'm guessing people are going to do stuff with it :-)
The first part is a bit boring, but @2:00 things start to get interesting...

Making something black seems simple. But getting something really black is much more complicated. Some shine, some reflection... but these guys seem to have nailed it. More video's can be found here.

You need some dedication, a nice camera, presumably a pair of swimming pants and a lot of time. But then you could arrive at this...
